An Inside Look at the 2016 New York Comic Con

Comments

Over the years, the New York Comic Con has increasingly gained ground on its larger San Diego counterpart as a can’t-miss destination for those in the TV, film, and pop-culture business — and the many fans that support them. Since launching in 2006, NYCC has grown from just over 30,000 attendees to more than 180,000 in 2016. And while the name may lead some to believe this is an event exclusively focused on comic books, the fact is that it’s become something far bigger — an epicenter for all the latest happenings in modern media.

With just about every major TV and film studio represented, programming included presentations and panels from the casts and crews of everything from HBO’s Westworld and FOX’s Son of Zorn to 20th Century Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes and Universal Pictures’ The Great Wall, among many, many others. Which isn’t to say there weren’t plenty of comic-book devotees there too.

In between panels, interviews, and screenings, we hit the floor at NYC’s Javits Convention Center to talk to some of the most enthusiastic people in attendance and offer a glimpse at the weird and wonderful world of New York Comic Con. Check out our exclusive video above, scroll on for more images, and stay tuned for more coverage from this year’s convention.
