At Pond5, we believe creativity and innovation can, and must, fuel cultural and social change. We have sought to cultivate a marketplace that acts as a creative space where artists can find inspiration to tell their stories, empower the underrepresented, and play a role in fighting for justice. In celebration of Juneteenth, we’re putting our vision into action.
We’re Better Together
An important part of contributing to transformation is to partner with organizations that harness the power of creative expression to help marginalized communities break boundaries and overcome systemic hurdles. That’s why this year, as part of our annual Juneteenth promotion, we’re supporting two incredible organizations that we admire.
Second Chance Studios
Second Chance Studios is a nonprofit digital media company that trains and employs formerly incarcerated individuals within the new media space. Their mission is to open secure opportunities to a population that often does not have the resources required for these high-paying jobs. In doing so, they aim to help their fellows avoid recidivism, pave a new path, and realize new potential.
Queer|Art’s mission is to create a diverse and vibrant community through the support of LGBTQ+ art and artists across generations and disciplines. Their cornerstone mentorship program creates opportunities for artists focused on a variety of media—filmmakers, authors, performers, and visual artists. Pond5’s donation will benefit the Flash Fund, in support of Black queer artists within the organization’s mentor program.
Beyond the Celebrations
Our work doesn’t stop with these donations; these causes form part of our day-to-day commitments. We’re engaged in ongoing conversations to help Second Chance Studios fellows find employment in the new media space, and to introduce Queer|Art artists to our marketplace. We hope that by building relationships with these incredible organizations, we can help contribute to the visions they pursue.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the dedicated teams at Second Chance Studios and Queer|Art who are working tirelessly to inspire hope for a better future. We’re also thankful to you, our Pond5 family, for supporting our donation effort on Juneteenth.
